Pine Grove's Lake Rules
Lifeguards are provided for the safety of PGLA members and their guests;
however, swimming is at your own risk and has inherent dangers
associated with it. Further, it is incumbent upon the members and their guests
to recognize these risks and use good judgment & common sense
when utilizing any of the Associations facilities.
The lake will open for swimming on the day after school ends and close on Labor Day. Swimming when lifeguard is not present is prohibited.
Swimming is only allowed in the area supervised by the lifeguards. Swimming beyond the ropes, off of boats or in any other part of Mirror Lake is prohibited.
The roped off "Pancake" area is for the use of small children and non swimmers. There is no diving from pancake.
The center area is roped off for children eight and over. This area may be used for water sports and games. At the lifeguard's discretion, younger children can play in the center area. (stated in 1 above)
Upon completion of a lifeguard supervised "swim test", children eight years and older (or having completed 2nd grade) may swim to the dock without being accompanied by an adult.
Persons unable to swim are forbidden to use floatation devices which carry them into water over their heads.
Diving is permitted from the diving board only.
Horseplay, flips or other gymnastics are prohibited from the diving
board and dock area.
Even though the lifeguard is on duty, it is incumbent upon parents and/or guardians to supervise the activities of their children, at all times, in and out of the water.
Children 14 years or younger (or those having completed 8th grade or less) will not be allowed on the beach or in the water unless accompanied by a parent or an adult guardian 18 years or older.
The lifeguard has the authority to restrict lake privileges of anyone who is repeatedly acting in an unsafe manner or in violation of lake rules.
The Board of Trustees reserves the right to refuse swimming privileges to any resident or guest who consistently violates any of the above rules.
All members must carry their PGL tags and show upon request by a lifeguard or Trustee. Members who have not paid their dues may not be a guest or use the tags of another member. To avoid any inconvenience, carry your tag at all times.
Guests must be accompanied by an adult PGL HOA member at all times when using the Association's property.
Glass containers, bottle, etc. cannot be brought onto the beach area. The lifeguard has the authority to determine dangerous objects and prohibit their use.
Playing with Association's beach equipment or boat is not permitted.
Dogs are not permitted on the beach, grass or in the water of Mirror Lake.
Please do not litter the beach or any other of the Association's properties. Please recycle.
Do not feed the geese.
Playing or walking in the stream is prohibited at all times.
Parking is not permitted on Greenway East between Torne and Greenway during swimming hours.
Motor boats are not permitted in the lake. Boating is
allowed only outside the roped off areas. Boats cannot be stored or left on
Association property.
Children using boats must wear life jackets.
